Energy

Future energy development faces great challenges due to an increasing world population, demands for higher standards of living, demands for less pollution and a much discussed end to fossil fuels. Without energy, the world's entire industrialized infrastructure would collapse; agriculture, transportation, waste collection, information technology, communications and much of the prerequisites that a developed nation takes for granted.

A shortage of the energy needed to        sustain the world's infrastructure could lead to a Malthusian catastrophe.

Our standard of living is based literally on two factors, emotions and a multitude of "things".   Emotions (thoughts, love, hate, greed, values, religion, etc) are actually free.   All humans since caveman days have all, and sometimes more, emotions that can be handle rationally. All "things" that form our physical standard of living must be produced and that requires energy.

Unfortunately politicians deal almost entirely on emotions.  This is why our current ever expanding government has not and will not develop an effective energy policy.

Engineers build things. All building processes require energy. We all desire a higher material standard of living.  The American standard of living was increased from rudimentary frontierism to the highest in the world based on individual invention, hard work and low cost plentiful energy.   Both Democrat and Republican politicians have promised us a lower standard of living due to a failed energy program and ever increasing energy costs.    It is time for a Libertarian President to turn energy development from ineffective government excuses to private enterprise and individual invention.

Ethanol Is a prime example of the political ignorance of a dysfunctional government..

Both Democrats and Republicans are using tax dollars on the promotion of Ethanol as a significant fuel for the future.   It makes no sense attacking the food supply when so many in the world do not have enough to eat.  Most importantly there is more fossil fuel energy required to make ethanol than ethanol energy produced.  Cornell University has summarized this net loss of energy as the following,

Check the Washington math.  Say the production cost of a gallon of gasoline is $2.00.  Add a dollar tax for a price of $3.00.  Say the production cost of a gallon of ethanol is $4.00.  Deduct a subsidy (taxpayer money) of $1.00 for a price of $3.00.  Washington then claims that the cost to the public is the same for gasoline or ethanol.  Stupid is stupid does.

Bob designed, made and sold these suits                      to protect operators handling nuclear fuel and Plutonium

Cook Nuclear Plant, Michigan
Bob applied engineering and management for the manufacturing of the fuel, fuel assemblis, control rods, heat exchangers, containment liner, Exterior tanks, spent fuel pits and more.

The Energy issue will be expanded in the near future for ---

Future world use will increase and access to fossil fuels will be more expensive.

The US is not the major world energy user and we can not stop or restrain other nations form using more energy.

Replace Fossil fuels with a less expensive energy source is the real goal.  Bob's plan does this.

Actually promote sensible alternate energy sources like wind, tides, solar etc.  But not foolish alternates like ethanol.

How much CO2 is actually being created in the world?

Nuclear reactors - Bob has more experience in building naval and  commercial power nuclear reactors than all other creditable presidential candidates combined.

Let’s build 500 new reactors over the next 20 years and we would then have about 1/3 of our energy requirements met.   500 new reactors is a lot but it illustrates the size of the problem and renewable fuel energy sources can not match 500 reactors much less supply the energy needs of the country.

Why support Brazil’s sugar cane conversion to energy when that is requiring clear cutting of the rain forests?   Where are the concerned environmentalists?

Bob has a plan for fusion reactor development.
1/ Ambient temperature superconductive material makes this feasable.
2/ Fusion energy generation is the best potential for American leadership and profit for world energy solutions.
3/ Our government has subcontracted this important research to the French and is paying them 1 billion dollars to get the French in a leadership role.  Stipid is stupid does.
4/  Fusion energy is totally non-poluting and environment friendly.

Fast breeder reactors and a means to dispose of the waste. Linear gun to the sun, etc.
